Vinted launches in Finland, further expanding its footprint in the Nordics

VILNIUS, Lithuania, November 9, 2023 - Vinted, Europe’s leading C2C marketplace dedicated to second-hand fashion, launches in Finland; just a few months after launching in Denmark, and a year after arriving in Sweden. With this launch, Vinted further increases its presence in Northern-Europe and gets another step closer to its overall mission to make second-hand the first choice worldwide.

As of today, people in Finland1 will be able to browse and trade second-hand items online easily and with peace of mind via the Vinted app and website. With over 80 million registered members globally, and about 500 million items available across all markets, Vinted fosters an international community with connected markets. Members in Finland will be able to trade with a growing base in Denmark and Sweden (and soon Lithuania), increasing their chances to sell and find second-hand items.

Adam Jay, CEO of Vinted Marketplace, says: "Launching in Finland is another important step forward for us, as we grow our presence in the Nordics and expand our platform. We know Finnish people are eager to adopt more circular behaviours and Vinted makes second-hand easy-to-access and good value for everyone. Despite our growth, the opportunity of the second-hand market is still huge, so we are excited for the future and each country we expand to.”

In fact, we know that Finns have a strong affinity for second-hand shopping and we've found that 72% of buyers choose pre-owned items mainly to save money, while 63% focus on decluttering.2 Making more sustainable choices is another key driver for consumers in Finland to choose second hand as 44% of buyers choose pre-owned items to shop more sustainably, while 48% of sellers aim to declutter meaningfully.3

By making it effortless to buy and sell second-hand items, Vinted brings to Finland an easily accessible option to make more sustainable choices. As our recent Climate Change Impact Report4 has proven, buying second-hand on Vinted is a better choice for the climate than buying new, avoiding an average of 1.8 Kg of CO2 emissions per transaction.
