Charli xcx partners with Vinted to wear second-hand on tour and sell special archival pieces

Charli xcx has partnered with Vinted to bring pre-loved fashion to the stage throughout her Music, Fashion, Film tour. Working alongside longtime stylist Chris Horan, Charli has incorporated a series of vintage and pre-loved finds sourced directly from Vinted sellers into her wardrobe.
Now, Charli is giving fans the opportunity to shop her own closet. Beginning Monday, November 16, a curated selection of pieces from her personal archive, tour wardrobe and items sourced by Chris will be available to purchase on Vinted across the UK, US and Australia, with all proceeds benefiting Rainbow Railroad, the international organization helping LGBTQI+ people facing persecution find safety.
Vintage and archival fashion have long been central to Charli's personal style. From reworking her wedding dress for the "Rock Music" music video to revisiting the Valentino dress worn in "Good Ones," Charli has always embraced giving clothes a second life. "Vintage and second-hand are a huge part of my style. Chris and I love mixing older, iconic pieces with newer things. I think it makes a look feel more personal to me and always takes us to a more unexpected place," says Charli.
For the Music, Fashion, Film tour, Charli and longtime stylist Chris Horan took this approach to Vinted, sourcing an eclectic mix of pre-loved and designer pieces using search terms including "distressed," "gothic" and "flounce." Among their finds were an early-2000s Christian Audigier piece reimagined as a dress for Austin City Limits, a sheer grey blouse worn in San Diego and a black Roberto Cavalli dress worn to the Academy Gala after-party in Los Angeles and the final show in Las Vegas.
Each of the pieces came with a story of its own. The sheer blouse worn in San Diego was listed by a Vinted seller in New York City, who described passing on her clothes as a matter of habit: “Once I have my moment wearing something, I like to pass it on because ya never know who’s gonna wear it next... maybe a pop star.” The Cavalli dress came from a Vinted seller who, as it happened, was in the audience at the Los Angeles show and saw the after-party photos that same evening: “She looked amazing, and it fit her perfectly.” One find is yet to make its stage debut: a floor-length Donna Karan dress with an appliqué bird motif, originally a gift to its seller from her future mother-in-law, a former personal shopper at Saks.
Now, Charli is opening up her own wardrobe on Vinted, with a curated selection of pieces available to shop across the UK, US and Australia from November 16. The collection will include looks worn on tour, second-hand finds sourced by Chris and pieces from Charli's personal archive, including a leather jacket from R&M Leathers and vintage tees. "Some were found on Vinted in the first place, worn on stage, and are now going back out into the world. Which feels like a full circle," says Charli. All proceeds will benefit Rainbow Railroad, which supports LGBTQI+ people facing persecution around the world.
The exchange keeps on going: having sourced her tour looks from other people’s listings, Charli and Chris will be browsing the app for their next finds. Anyone selling on Vinted can add #charlixcx to a listing to put it in front of them.
Accompanying the partnership is a new glimpse behind the scenes featuring Charli and Chris going through their Vinted finds, experimenting with looks and revisiting some of Charli's most iconic fashion moments. The video will premiere on Charli's social media channels on November 8th, ahead of the wardrobe sale on November 16th.
